Hey Huunnii!

I’m Ashley.

I’ve called Charlotte home for a little over 12 years, and the game-changer for me when I moved here was finding my people and creating a community that felt like home. While I don’t mind going places solo, I’ve learned that some moments are just better when shared with others who get it.

As a Journaling Coach, journaling has been my lifeline for years—it’s guided me through heartbreak, grief, career pivots, and all the messy in-betweens. For me, journaling isn’t just writing words on paper; it’s an act of courage, self-love, and discovery. It’s where clarity meets creativity, where we face our truths, and where we find the power to rewrite our stories.

I believe healing doesn’t have to be boring or lonely. Life is messy, overwhelming, and sometimes hard—but it’s also beautiful and full of possibility. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to create safe, fun, and transformative spaces where people can reflect, connect, and heal through journaling.

The Journaling Circle was born out of my passion for journaling and my desire to build a community that feels as authentic and vibrant as the people in it. Whether you’re new to Charlotte or a longtime local, I know so many of us are just craving meaningful connection. That’s why I created this space—and why journaling is at its heart.

When I’m not journaling or dreaming up The Journaling Circle’s next adventure, you’ll probably find me thrifting, catching live music, at a comedy show, or eating my way through the city’s food scene.

I can’t wait to meet you, cheer you on, and watch you grow in this incredible community. Whether you’re new to journaling or an OG notebook collector like me, The Journaling Circle is where your story matters. Let’s reflect, connect, and grow—together.

GOT QUESTIONS, HUUNNII?

Is journaling experience required to join?

Not at all! The Journaling Circle welcomes all levels. Our guided prompts and supportive atmosphere ensure everyone feels comfortable and inspired.

What happens during the events?

Each event starts with an hour of guided journaling focused on self-discovery and creativity. Afterward, members engage in a social activity such as pottery, pickleball, sporting events, comedy shows, or volunteering.

Would it be possible to suggest an event?

This is a Founding Member perk and if you’re a member, it’s important your interests are reflected and considered. You can make suggestions for the team to review by emailing: ashley@strokesoffreedom.com.

When would I be charged? How does this work?

The Journaling Circle is a monthly membership program. The cost of $79 (founding member) or $99 per month is automatically charged to your card on your monthly renewal date. For example, if you sign up on January 5th, your next billing date will be February 5th.

How often does The Journaling Circle meet?

We meet twice a month, offering consistent opportunities for reflection and social connection through curated events.

Can I attend just one event without a membership?

Our events are designed exclusively for members to ensure an intimate and connected experience. Membership is required and guarantees your spot at every gathering.

Do I need to RSVP for each event, or is my membership enough?

Your membership includes automatic access, but we’ll still ask you to RSVP to help us plan the best experience possible!

Is this a women-only circle?

Nopers, The Journaling Circle is open to all individuals who value reflection, personal growth, and meaningful connections. If that’s you, come on through!

Are the social activities beginner-friendly? (Like pickleball or pottery!)

Huunnii, and are! I’m new at a lot of things so I’ll make sure the activities are fun and as inclusive as possible.

Can I bring a guest to an event?

Sometimes! Keep an eye out for special guest invites.
